Rope access technique
Efficient and safe access to demanding work areas
Rope access technique
About this service:
AAK Energy supplies certified welders with access techniques for performing welding tasks. The use of access techniques/multidisciplinary climbing teams can be very effective if welding is to be performed in difficult-to-reach locations. Our welders also perform traditional welding tasks without access techniques.
A multidisciplinary climbing team set up for a welding job typically consists of a welder, an NDT inspector and a surface finisher. In addition, the operators are often certified riggers, so that the team can rig in place the structure to be assembled/welded.
Advantages:
- Access technology can be used for easy and efficient access to work areas with difficult and time-limited access.
- Small welding habitats/welding tents can be built on the actual location where welding will be done. Access technology is used for access to and from the welding location, which reduces the need for scaffolding for access to and from the welding location.
- Heavier equipment to be installed/welded into place can be lifted/cross-hauled directly into position without scaffolding material for access to the work site getting in the way and having to be modified or dismantled.
AAK Energy provides the following services in connection with welding assignments:
- Work tent and overpressure welding habitat solutions
- Work platforms, flexible and custom-made
- Heat treatment equipment for pre and post heating, as well as temperature logging
- Plasma, carbon pin and cutting torch equipment with and without jigs
- Welding equipment and equipment for flux cored wire, stick and tig welding
