Falling Objects (FG) Inspection

About this service:

Falling objects account for a significant proportion of the offshore industry's most serious incidents. AAK Energy offers a complete concept in the prevention of falling objects and offers the following services within this segment.

  • FG Inspections
  • Improvements, securing equipment at height
  • FO Survey
  • OBS courses offshore and onshore

AAK Energy is one of the most experienced players in FG on the Norwegian continental shelf and has carried out this type of assignment for over 20 years.

FG Inspection:
AAK Energy performs FG third-party inspection programs on all equipment at height. After inspection, a report is prepared that is used as an effective tool to ensure the measures are taken, and draft meetings are held to propose improvements to findings and secure equipment in accordance with regulations and standards.

Repair and securing of equipment at height:
AAK has professionals in many disciplines (electricians, mechanics, NDT Inspectors, welders, surface finishers etc.) and can perform repairs where access is a challenge. Using access technology does not require much time to reach the workplace. AAK tailors the team composition with the necessary disciplines to be able to perform inspection and repairs.

FO Survey:
We conduct a FO Survey where the purpose is to review the management systems and routines the company has established for identifying and controlling potentially falling objects. The AAK team performs a spot check of the unit's compliance with procedures, regulations and standards.

NOTE Course:
We offer courses in Observation Techniques (OBS courses). The course is taught by our course leaders with many years of field experience. The course aims to raise awareness of personnel regarding falling objects, to influence their behavior and barrier understanding. We have also developed an e-learning course related to Observation Techniques.
